Strengthening Institutional Growth
The Dubai Shipping Agents Association (DSAA) successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 8 April 2026, marking an important milestone in the association’s ongoing institutional development and strategic evolution within Dubai’s maritime and trade ecosystem.
The AGM reflected DSAA’s continued commitment to strengthening governance, enhancing industry representation, and supporting constructive engagement between the maritime sector and government stakeholders. As the industry continues to evolve both regionally and globally, the association reaffirmed its focus on building a stronger, more structured, and forward-looking platform for the maritime community.
Governance Modernization and Strategic Direction
Opening the session, DSAA Chairman H.E. Salah Sharaf emphasized the importance of institutional growth, governance modernization, and long-term industry collaboration, highlighting DSAA’s continued commitment to strengthening industry representation and supporting the advancement of Dubai’s maritime sector.
The AGM agenda included governance updates, financial reporting, strategic outlook discussions, Executive Committee elections for the 2026–2028 term, and proposed updates to the association’s Articles of Association (AoA).
A key focus of the meeting centered around governance modernization initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and operational structure across the association. Proposed updates included clearer governance frameworks, strengthened committee structures, alignment of reporting lines and responsibilities further reinforcing institutional integrity and long-term sustainability.
Supporting Industry Representation and Collaboration
The meeting also highlighted DSAA’s broader strategic direction for 2026, focused on strengthening regulatory engagement, advancing industry dialogue, enhancing member participation, supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives, and reinforcing DSAA’s institutional presence both regionally and internationally.
In line with the UAE’s broader leadership vision, the AGM also reflected the growing importance of empowering national talent, strengthening representation, and encouraging greater collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders.
The newly elected Executive Committee also reflects DSAA’s continued institutional evolution through broader representation and leadership diversity, including increased UAE national presence and the election of the association’s first female board member. This development aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of empowering national talent and strengthening inclusive leadership across key sectors.
